In this blog, we’re going to be taking a look at some of our top picks for the best motorcycle boots you can buy in 2026…
Let’s get into it!
What Motorcycle Boots should I buy?

The style and composition of the motorcycle boot you should buy will completely rely on the type of rider you are.
The boots perfect for motocross riders aren’t going to be the same boots for a weekend rider, and vice versa.
It also depends on what you want the boots to do; if you want your feet to stay dry in the winter weather, then the boots you’re going to be searching for must be waterproof. However, if you’re looking for some boots to zip around the racetrack in 30-degree heat, then opting for something lighter with more breathability would be your best bet.
Below, we’re going to be discussing each type of motorcycle boot there is on the UK market, and the level of riding they are made/created for.
Types of Motorcycle Boots
If you’re a newbie to biking, or you’re just stuck on which biking boots are best for you, you’ve come to the right place.
Typically, there are five styles of motorcycle boots to pick from, these are:
Racing/Sport Boots
As the name suggests, racing boots are designed for high-speed racing with maximum protection. Made up of stiff materials such as thermoplastic polyurethane, full-grain leather, and synthetic microfibre, these boots are built to withstand the extreme demands of the track.
Adventure/Dual-Sports Boots
Dual sports boots can be described as a hybrid between touring and sports racing boots. Similar to touring boots, they are often waterproof and weather-resistant, keeping the foot dry without having to skimp on comfort.
They are also far more rugged and tall, like a sports boot would be.
Touring Boots
This style of boots focuses on long-distance comfort. These boot styles are comfy and versatile, featuring a waterproof/thermal membrane that helps keep your feet warm (and dry) on long or possibly rainy bike commutes.
You will also find that this style of boots comes in both a medium and high length, depending on which you prefer.
Urban Boots
Urban, or casual styled boots, are very popular with younger riders nowadays. Given their name, they are often designed to look like your everyday trainers or shoes, but offer reinforced ankle, toe, and heel protection.
Motocross/Off-Road Boots
If you’re looking for boots ideal for off-roading racing then these are the right ones for you.
Motocross boots are highly rigid and armour-plated to help protect riders against the mud, rocks, or any harsh terrain.

Up first are the Supertech R’s, Alpinestars premium racing boots.
Made up of aluminium toe sliders, TPU shin protection and TPU-covered mesh and synthetic leather, these racing motorcycle boots are ideal for street riding and competitive track use. Something special about these boots is that they have great flexibility and a gear change enforcement pad in the sole to help make shifting gears a breeze.
When searching around, you can pick yourself up a brand new pair of Alpine Supertech Rs for £349.94. Or, if you prefer your boots with a little more airflow, there are the Alpinestars Supertech R Vented Boots (£503.99) - ideal for warmer weather racing.

RST Tractech Evo III | Price: £150

For our next offering, we have some boots that are slightly more affordable.
The RST Tractech Evo III’s are a great pair of sports/racing style motorcycle boots designed for both occasional track use and everyday street riding. Another great thing about these boots is that they are CE Level 2/2/2/1 certified, making them among the highest-rated motorcycle boots on the market.
Sporting TPU protectors at the heel, ankle and toes, you will also find a reinforced toebox, hinged ankle support and an anti-twist polycarbonate shank to give the boots added protection without adding too much weight.
Usually these boots retail at £149.99; however, when looking around online, we managed to find a pair of the RST Tractechs for £119.97 - a £30 saving!
Best Adventure/Dual-Sports Motorbike Boots
REV'IT! Expedition GTX | Price: £659

The first pair of boots we’re going to mention in our adventure section today is the REV'IT! Expedition GTXs!
The membrane of these boots is coated with breathable GORE-TEX Performance Comfort waterproofing and 3D mesh lining, creating a boot that is ready to tackle any weather condition you throw at it. These boots also feature an OrthoLite® insole, making them very comfortable and easy to walk and ride in.
It is also important to note that these boots have a high CE certification rating (EN 13634 Level 2), protecting against impact, abrasion, and shock to the foot.
Upon researching, the retail price for these boots is rather premium (£629), but many online motorcycle clothing sites, such as Adventure Rider and Infinity Motorcycles, have them in stock for just over £550.
Duchinni Quest | Price: £160

Next up, we have some adventure-style boots that sit within the mid-range price point and have been created with comfort, protection and everyday usability at their forefront.
They come equipped with a full-grain leather upper exterior and waterproof lining on the interior. These boots can keep your feet dry in most weather conditions, whilst looking classically cool while doing so.
In terms of protection, these boots do comply with the motorcycle boot safety standards in the UK, coming with a CE certification of EN13634. Meaning you’ll find reinforced shin, toe, heel cup and gear-shifter zones across the boots, ready to defend your feet against any impact or abrasion.
When researching for this blog, we found many online retailers selling these boots for £160, which, compared to some other boots on the market, are very budget-friendly and ideal for those just starting out on their first bikes but want to stay safe.
Best Motorcycle Touring Boots
Altberg Roadrunner | Price: £329

Our first set of Lexham recommended Motorcycle touring boots is the Altberg Roadrunners, which are actually worn by many police forces across the UK. There are so many great things about these boots that I don’t even know where to start…
First things first, these boots are certified to the highest level for road use (BSEN 13634-2010-2:2:2), meaning they are slip, cut and crush resistant, as well as being waterproof in up to 100,000 flexes of water.
Aside from that, the Roadrunners come packed with a sole only found on Altbergs (as it is their design), which is both oil and acid-resistant, as well as having a cleated tread to grip on the bottom to grip to any terrain.
Onto price, and the Roadrunners are a little on the pricey side, coming in at £329, but when you consider the fact that these boots are fully custom for your foot, the price starts to make sense. And if you are a taller rider, or perhaps you prefer your boots to sit higher up the leg, we’d recommend looking at the Bahnriders.
DXR Skoga CE | Price: £69.99

The DXR Skoga CE boots are a great pair of affordable touring boots - ideal for your everyday commutes.
Made with a microfibre and synthetic construction, these boots pack a polyester lining, CE-approved protective armour around the ankle and shin, as well as integrated rubber gear selector protectors in the sole, which help prevent wear in shift areas.
One thing about the Skoga CEs is that they do lack insulation, so your feet might feel a bit on the colder side. However, this isn’t anything a good pair of thermal socks can’t solve!
For £69.99, these boots are openly available for riders on any sort of budget, and judging by the reviews, they’re a pair of boots that riders find themselves buying time and time again.
Best Urban Style Motorcycle Boots
TCX Street 3 | Price: £149

For our first set of urban/street style motorcycle boots, we have the TCX Street 3s.
The Street 3’s blend your everyday trainer with all the important safety features of a motorcycle boot, ideal for light commutes, shopping trips or even short city jaunts.
Boasting reinforcements such as D3O® inserts on the ankle, OrthoLite footbed, Groundtrax rubber outsole, as well as protective elements on the toes and heel, these boots are also CE certified to the highest degree.
As you’d quite expect, these bike shoes are comfortable both on and off the bike, all for the price of £149. When doing some research, we have found some pairs for under £100, but you might want to bag them quickly, as I don’t expect them to stick around for long!
Falco Aviator Boots | Price: £209

The Falco Aviators are a little closer to what you’d expect a traditional boot to look like, for those of you who don’t like to wear trainers.
Aside from their looks, these CE-certified boots come equipped with a high-tech waterproof membrane, D3O ankle protectors, a high-grip rubber sole, as well as a full-grain distressed leather upper.
These boots can also easily be slipped on and off using the dual zip system and then adjusted using the laces to either tighten or loosen the width. Admittedly, they aren’t going to be the boots for you if you ride off-road or frequently partake in longer commutes. However, they are ideal for those short trips into the city and quick trips to the shops.
Upon research, these boots retail for £210; retailers such as the SportsbikeShop & Infinity Motorcycles have them on sale right now for £158.
Best Motocross/Off-Road Motorcycle Boots
ALPINESTARS TECH 10 | Price: £479

The first of our top picks has got to be the Alpinestars Tech 10s, a premium off-road riding boot made for serious riders and racers.
Among many riders, these boots are considered to be some of the best for protection, performance and durability - all thanks to the various safety features.
Coming packed with a frontal flex frame and dual pivot system with an inner ankle brace, these mechanisms can help prevent over- or underextension of the ankle, as well as help to protect against lateral or rotational injuries. These boots also have dynamic compressors in the heel to help absorb and spread impact forces from crashes.
As we mentioned before, the Alpinestars Tech 10s are a very premium boot, coming with a very premium price tag attached. Retailing for £479 on most motorcycle apparel shopping sites, these aren’t going to be an easily accessible option for many riders out there.
Fox Racing Comp | Price: £235

For our second pick, we have the Fox Racing Comp motocross motorbike boots, designed to give riders a solid combination of protection, comfort and value.
Whether you’re a beginner rider, a weekend wanderer, or perhaps you’re someone who wants reliable gear without a hefty price tag, these boots are currently available online for £235.
Sporting TPU plating on the shins, toes, calves and heel, as well as a composite insole board, these boots give riders enough stability and support from heel to toe, whilst protecting against any impact or abrasion.
In terms of materials, the boots come with a microfibre synthetic leather upper, as well as an air mesh lining in the interior to allow for breathability of the foot, and not forgetting comfort.
These boots aren’t going to be for the extreme motocross or extended enduro racers out there, but as we mentioned previously, they are a great first boot for those just getting into the sport.
