VMoto Insurance Cover Levels

To find the right policy for your VMoto, it's important to understand your cover options.

Comprehensive

This is the most extensive level of Vmoto insurance cover. Fully Comprehensive motorcycle insurance includes:

  • Damage to your own bike and any third party from accidents – whether it's your fault or not.

  • Any damage caused by fire or attempted theft (replacement only if less than 1 year old and policy terms apply).

As the name suggests, it is the most comprehensive cover available for your VMoto.

Third party, fire and theft (TPFT)

This option covers you for:

  • Injury to other people, or damage to third-party vehicles and property in the case of an accident

  • If your Vmoto is stolen or damaged in an attempted theft

  • Fire damage

If you're responsible for an accident, third-party fire and theft (TPFT) doesn't cover the loss or cost of repairing your Vmoto.

Third party only (TPO)

The minimum legal requirement for riding on UK roads. This covers:

  • Injury or damage caused to other people and their property.

  • It does not cover damage to your own motorcycle, theft, or fire damage.

You can also choose from a range of optional upgrades and add-ons to enhance your Honda insurance policy. Discover more about upgrades and extras. Discover more about upgrades and extras

A brief history of VMoto

Vmoto was first founded in 1999 and has grown into a global manufacturer specialising in electric motorcycles, mopeds and scooters. Focused on sustainable urban transport, the company has spent more than two decades developing practical electric two-wheelers for riders around the world.

The brand gained recognition through popular models such as the CPx electric scooter and TC Max electric motorcycle. These models demonstrated that electric vehicles could offer both practicality and style, whilst helping to attract riders looking for an alternative to traditional petrol-powered machines.

In recent years, Vmoto UK has undergone several name changes, meaning that some of the older models may also be listed under Supersoco or Vmoto Soco.

Today, Vmoto's range includes everything from commuter-focused scooters and learner-friendly motorcycles to high-performance electric models such as the Stash. The company continues to invest in innovative technology and sustainable transport solutions while expanding its presence across Europe and beyond.

Understanding vmoto motorcycle, moped & scooter insurance

We understand taking out insurance for your VMoto Motorcycle, Moped & Scooter Insurance can seem complicated, but we're here to help. Discover answers to some of our most-asked questions below.

If you want to know about...

The VMoto Insurance you need

Do you need insurance for a Vmoto motorcycle or scooter?

Yes, you do. It's against the law to ride on UK roads without at least third-party insurance, even if you've only got a provisional licence.

While you're not required to carry your insurance documents with you at all times, you must provide them to a police officer upon request – either on the spot or within 7 days by presenting them at a police station.

It's also advisable to keep your driving licence with you.

What information do I need to hand for Vmoto insurance?

To get a quote, you'll need:

·        Your Vmoto registration number.

·        The make and model (e.g. CPx, TC Max, TSX, Stash).

·        Your riding licence details (whether you've passed your CBT and what type of licence you hold – AM, A1, A2 or full A).

·        Your postcode.

·        Your date of birth.

·        Details of any previous claims, convictions or accidents in the last five years.

·        Your no-claims bonus (if you have one).

·        How you'll use your Vmoto (social and commuting, business use, delivery, etc.).

·        Your estimated annual mileage.

Does Lexham insure all Vmoto models?

We insure most Vmoto motorcycles and scooters, from learner-friendly electric models through to larger commuter and performance-focused machines.

We focus on motorcycles and scooters that suit learner riders, commuters, everyday riders and those making the switch to electric transport.

We're particularly experienced with popular models such as the CPx, TC Max, TSX and Stash.

Can I get immediate cover for my Vmoto?

Immediate quotes and cover are available for most Vmoto models, provided the risk falls within our underwriting appetite.

If your specific Vmoto or circumstances require additional review, we'll let you know during the quote process.

If you want to know about...

More about your VMoto insurance

What if my Vmoto is modified?

You need to tell us about any modifications, both when you're getting a quote and any time you make changes during your policy. That includes upgraded batteries, custom paintwork, performance upgrades, or any aftermarket parts. If you're in doubt, ask us.

We'll look at each Vmoto individually. Modifications will usually increase your premium, but we'll do what we can to find you competitive cover.

Can I ride my Vmoto abroad?

Most of our policies include European cover for up to 90 days a year, with a maximum of 30 days in one trip.

Before you travel, check your policy documents to see which countries you're covered in, how many days you've got available and what level of cover applies while you're abroad, as it may differ from your UK cover.

If you need to extend your cover or you're travelling somewhere that's not included, get in contact with us before you go, or manage your policy via the Lexham Insurance App or the Lexham Portal.

Can I carry a passenger on my Vmoto?

You can if you've got the right licence for it. When you're getting a quote, we'll ask if you want pillion cover, and we can add that to your policy.

Check your documents to make sure it's included. If you haven't got pillion cover but need to add it, just get in contact with us or adjust your policy on the Lexham Insurance App or through the Lexham Portal on our website.

If you want to know about...

VMoto Insurance Costs

How can I reduce my VMoto insurance cost?

There are a few things that can help bring down your premium:

  • Fitting additional insurance-approved trackers to your Zero motorcycle or scooter can provide discounts. Keep it in a locked garage or secure premises overnight if possible. Please note that mechanical locks are a policy requirement.

  • Your riding record makes a big difference. Accruing your no-claims bonus is the single most efficient way of building up discounts on your insurance quote. Try to avoid getting points on your licence or having accidents.

  • When setting up your policy, you could choose a higher voluntary excess to lower your insurance premium. However, take care to guarantee you would still be able to afford the excess should a claim arise – and that the value of this excess does not exceed the value of your Zero model. Be realistic about your annual mileage, too – estimating too high will increase your premium.

Is VMoto insurance expensive?

It depends on the model and your circumstances. Smaller VMoto scooters can often attract lower insurance premiums, while higher-performance or longer-range models may cost more to insure.

Factors that affect your premium include your age, riding experience, location, the specific VMoto model you ride, and how you use it.

At Lexham, we assess every case individually to help find the right cover at a competitive price.
