We also understand that classics can be in many different conditions, such as Original, Restored, Modified, Chopped or Customised, and our broking team will make sure that you have the right type of cover for your machine. Classic Insurance Agreed Value Specialists
We understand owners of classic vehicles face particular issues when insuring their pride and joy, and here at Lexham this is taken into consideration when helping to select the right policy to protect your investment. Insurance companies normally value mopeds, scooters and motorcycles, based purely on what the vehicle is worth without taking into consideration the value that rarity and restoration can add. This means that although your Classic may be worth a lot of money on the open market, your Insurance Company might value it a lot lower. We offer an agreed value option which works differently from normal and acknowledges the value of a vehicle can be a lot higher than it appears on paper. This is called Agreed Value*.
*Please Note on Agreed Value Policies: On Agreed Value policies we will require more information than normal policies (i.e. 6 recent photos, bills for parts & servicing). This will be sent to an independent Valuation Officer, so please allow extra time to get these policies in place.

Affordable classic scooter insurance
Probably due to fact we all hope to never have to claim on a motor insurance policy, no one really wants to pay for it. Thanks to our status as specialist insurers, we can get you a great deal, and there’s a number of ways to ensure your classic scooter insurance is affordable.
Insurance is based on risk, and so your experience as a rider can be a key factor in your policy cost. If you’ve recently passed your test, consider taking an approved advanced rider training course, which some of our insurers can take into account.
Next the power and set up of your scooter will affect prices. Different insurers have set ages when insurance becomes cheaper, so get in touch to see when the best time is upgrade to more power. Aftermarket mods can also have an effect, especially if these may attract thieves. Mechanical modifications may also change the risk factors, so some insurers ask for an engineers’ report on work that has been carried out.
Finally, usage is a big factor. If you only ride your classic scooter occasionally, be sure to ask about discounts for maximum mileage, or special winter insurance if you only ride in the summer.
