Car Insurance for Motorcyclists FAQS
Does my Car Insurance cover me on a motorcycle?
No, you will need to have a separate insurance policy for your motorcycle. Our Car Insurance for motorcyclists product uses motorcycle experience on a car policy to offer a discount.
Is Motorcycle Insurance different from Car Insurance?
An insurance policy is unique in that it’s tailored to the individual and their vehicle. That’s why the quotation process and questions asked are so important to gather the right information and provide an accurate policy.
There are many of the same questions and information required for a motorcycle as a Car Insurance policy. Fundamentally, they are still the same levels of cover – Third Party Only, Third Party Fire and Theft and Comprehensive.
Do you have to declare motorbike accidents on Car Insurance?
It’s important to declare all information. During the quotation process, an insurer will ask for any recent accidents or claims on any vehicle. This can vary but many ask for any within the last 5 years.
Can I use a motorbike no claims for Car Insurance?
Our Car Insurance for Motorcyclists has been designed to use motorcycle no claims experience as a discount.
Can I get car insurance from Lexham if my bike insurance has already started?
To talk through this and your scenario, it’s always best to speak to one of our specialists, so, make sure to give us a call.
No need for a black box
Car insurance for young and inexperienced drivers is often expensive, and motorcycle experience is often ignored by other insurance companies. We know that statistically, motorcyclists make safer car drivers, so we have designed a specialist scheme to save these car drivers money when they have motorcycle no claims bonus.
Unlike most car insurance schemes for inexperienced drivers, you won't need to have a black box installed in your car. Having built up NCB on your scooter or motorcycle and proven yourself on the road, we feel this important experience should be taken into account and used to reduce your car insurance premium.
