It’s almost that time of year again, and no I don’t mean Halloween or Christmas. It’s almost time for The Cycle Show 2015 at Birmingham’s NEC. Since the first show way back in 2002, The Cycle Show has grown and grown to become the most popular and longest running cycling show in the UK.
Trade Stands Galore
This year looks like it’s going to be even bigger and better than ever before as it hosts over 280 bike companies including world renowned brands such as Bianchi, Oakley, Shimano, Cinelli, Boardman, Raleigh and many more. There really is an amazing amount of Bikes, Cycle Clothing, Bike Security and Components going to be on display for you to buy, test out and dream about owning in my case. We at Lexham will also be having a stand (G13) in the retail area displaying our wide range of products including Cycle Insurance, Cycle Recovery, Electric Cycle Insurance and Personal Accident Cover, so come over for a chat and find out about our great low cost products.
Once you have enjoyed a bit of retail therapy and browsed the hundreds of stands under the roof of the NEC, you can watch the many shows and displays going on throughout the day. The highlights of these include a Big Air Invitational hosted by Monster UK rider Sam Pilgrim. You will be able to watch the world’s top freestyle riders throw themselves and their bikes up a huge dirt jump with the aim of winning £5000 prize money. Another one for the adrenaline junkies is the UK BMX Flatland Championship which will be taking place on Sunday. All of the top British rider as well as pro riders from around the world will be in attendance and all trying to get their hands on the £1000 prize, which will make for some real impressive viewing.
Try Before You Buy
If you want to get a bit more hands on you can make your way over to the City Demo Track, the Electric Bike Village and the Dare2B Road Bike Track, where you will be able to test out the latest Road and Commuter bikes as well as eBikes and top-end bikes from Trek, Pinarello, LOOK etc. Theres even things for all the mini cyclists including a Kids’ Demo Track allowing them to try out the latest bikes and also try and beat the clock or their friends at the Kids Dry Tri hosted by the British Triathlon Trust.
If all the things I’ve mentioned above don’t persuade you to come along then maybe the chance to win a Trek Top Fuel 9 MTB bike worth £3000 will seal the deal? All ticket holders are automatically entered into the draw so keep your fingers crossed and you might be riding away on a brand new top of the range mountain bike.
I personally can’t wait and hopefully we’ll see you there.
